Your Challenges:

The Projects and Turnaround Lead is leading the department which is responsible for realizing the total sites’ investment portfolio. This portfolio ensures safe, compliant, and reliable operations of all our assets at site Delfzijl and consists out of extensive Turnarounds and complex brownfield projects to be realized within time, budget and scope.

You are accountable for adequate scope, budget and resource planning, safe and effective execution of the portfolio, and adequate and controlled total site CAPEX spend. You manage and develop the Projects & Turnaround organization and you drive various continuous improvement programs.

 

Key responsibilities:

1. Safety:

  • Ensuring the application of all safety rules, and compliance to legal and corporate rules and regulations;
  • Assuring awareness and employing safe working practices, promoting safety programs and behaviors within the team.

 


2. Site LTAP Management:

  • Initiate and lead the process for setting up a realistic site project portfolio based on costs, risks and opportunities;
  • Continuous steering of the total site project portfolio (LTAP, Long Term Asset Planning) in close collaboration with all valid responsibilities and stakeholders; both at site- as at central company level situated in Amersfoort. Proactive steering on safety, quality, time and total site CAPEX spent.

 


3. Turnaround Management:

  • Accountable for overall site turnaround management, from “good product to good product” preparation to execution;
  • Leading contribution to multi-year shutdown schedule for the site taking into account the strategic business improvement projects and maintenance replacement investment plans as planned in the Long-Term Asset Plan (LTAP);
  • Formulate the overall turnaround plan, budget and required resources, clarify role and involvement level of team members and accountable for timely approval of AR’s (Appropriate Requisitions, i.e. budget requests) which adhere to basic quality standards;
  • Accountable for the alignment of large or complex projects with the turnaround schedule planning through cooperation cross- and multi-disciplinary team.

 

4. Functional Excellence:

  • Responsible for implementing standardized work processes and best practices f.i. roll-out of Project Online (PPM);
  • Implementation and use of the BU processes for Projects & turnarounds f.i. the Nobian Projects Methodology (NPM), Turnaround Management (TAM);
  • Adhere to corporate policies, guidelines, processes, methodologies, working methods and systems.

 


5. People & Organization:

  • Coach and develop all team members and hold them accountable for delivery of results;
  • Create a capable and vital organization where people perceive their workplace as a great place to work;
  • Set direction by having a clear structure in place for responsibilities, activities and communication;
  • Maintain a competence gap-analysis for the team, resulting in required competencies, training and development programs, proper staffing and recruitment and long-term succession planning;
  • Drive a high engaged culture, appraise, and develop the people in the team.

 


6. Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities and make suggestions for improvement in turnaround and project efficiency and effectiveness.

 


7. Relationships Management:

  • Build and maintain a network with fellow project & turnaround leaders across the business, internal and external.

  • BSc/MSc level;
  • Experience with Turnarounds of > 5M euro and/or Projects >2M euro;
  • Experience in projects and/or turnarounds methodologies;
  • People Management Experience / Change Management, managerial experience;
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills;
  • Multiple years (>5y) of experience is a pre, but we are open for enthusiastic, ambitious people who want to make a next step in their career.
