Salt

The backbone of our business

We produce about six million tons of salt every year in Mariager, Denmark, and at our factories in Delfzijl and Hengelo, the Netherlands – the two largest vacuum salt plants in the world.

We produce our salt using vacuum salt technology, which employs raw brine combined with steam and electricity. Raw brine is produced through solution mining and our salt, in turn, is created using evaporation and crystallization processes.

Our production capabilities enable us to provide high-quality products to multiple markets, such as chlor-alkali, chlorate, textile, oil and gas, and water softening.
