Yesterday, we had the honor of welcoming the Dutch Prime Minister, Mr. Dick Schoof to the Botlek area in Rotterdam. As one of the central partners in the Botlek chemical cluster, Nobian was proud to participate in this significant visit.
Our Rotterdam site director, Toine van de Lindeloof, had the opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions with Mr. Schoof and other stakeholders on critical issues such as eroding competitiveness, network tariffs, indirect cost compensation, and the challenges posed by grid congestion.
The visit also highlighted the strategic importance of the Rotterdam industrial area, hosting one of the most integrated and efficient chemical clusters in Europe. The existing collaboration between companies, infrastructure, and location creates a strong foundation for sustainable growth. However, the increasingly high energy costs, regulatory uncertainty, and permitting challenges continue to impact the competitiveness of the Dutch industry.
At Nobian, we remain committed to working closely with the government and our partners to strengthen and ensure a level playing field—essential for innovation, sustainability, and the long-term production of essential chemicals and indispensable materials in the Netherlands.
