On 1 July 2026, Nobian marks its fifth anniversary.  Building on our 100 years of heritage, we have strengthened our position as a European leader in solution mining, salt production, electrochemistry, and energy storage caverns. We have done so while embedding sustainability into both our operations and product portfolio, based on our Grow Greener Together approach.

Over the past 5 years, we have consistently improved our sustainability performance in line with our ambition to become one of Europe's most sustainable industrial companies. This progress is reflected in our continued improvements across environmental performance and sustainable procurement, as well as in external recognition. For example, Nobian has received four consecutive EcoVadis Platinum ratings, placing us in the top 1% of over 130,000 companies assessed worldwide.

We also expanded our product portfolio with certified, low-carbon products. Nobian became the first European chemical producer to offer a full portfolio of ISCC PLUS-certified chloromethanes and has built a stronger position in renewable hydrogen. Starting in Rotterdam and later extended to Frankfurt, large-scale production of RFNBO-certified green hydrogen now supports customers across Europe. 

In parallel, Nobian strengthened its position in the production of battery chemicals, flexible production, and the development of energy storage caverns. These developments support the growth of renewable energy systems, the increasing demand for storage capacity and establishing critical European value chains, making Nobian an increasingly relevant energy balancing partner.

We have also strongly reduced carbon emissions across operations, with a clear focus on electrification, improving energy efficiency, and making better use of residual streams. In 2024, Nobian became the first company in the Netherlands to sign a tailor-made agreement with the Dutch government, supporting our ambition to reach near-zero CO₂ emissions by 2030.
