Technical Service Manager

For this position, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional with specialized knowledge of chemical manufacturing processes and prior expertise in technical development role within chemical industries to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background and experience in technical operations, product quality assessment and control, and process engineering combined with strong business acumen and customer support skills.

Your challenge as a Technical Services Manager

As a Technical Services Manager you hold a central position in the Technical Services Management (TSM) team where you advise on technical issues and build relationships with your in- and external stakeholders. You cooperate in a multifunctional team with production, marketing & sales, research & development, logistics, planning, customer service and legal. The primary responsibility of this TSM function is chloromethanes, with also acting as back-up for other product groups.

Further to this your tasks will exist of:

  • Being the focal point with respect to product quality for customers and internal departments, such as production plants, marketing & sales, logistics and R&D
  • Initiate R&D product or process improvements with Nobian R&D and Process Engineering & Innovation group
  • Resolving technical issues and complaints, supporting in the resolution of claims and keeping customers informed
  • Maintaining and updating product application knowledge of chloromethanes
  • Developing and maintaining Product Information documentation that supports our business objectives
  • Maintaining and updating the quality control agreements for the chlor- alkali products for our production and sales and the external depots and implementing them with plant staff, site laboratories and logistics.
  • Providing technical support concerning product quality, application, sustainability and safety
  • Representing Nobian and maintaining strong technical relationships with (key) accounts (on multiple levels in the organization) to support the business relation. 
  • Defining and implementing technical support plans for the (key) accounts 
  • Developing elementary knowledge of the other Nobian product groups to act as back-up in the TSM team

Have you got what it takes?

As a Technical Services Manager you bring experience within, the chemical industry. You have a strong customer focus, outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills and you know how to build up strong relationships with many different stakeholders. 

Further to this you recognize yourself in the following points:

  • Bachelor (HBO) or master’s degree (preferred) in chemical engineering, chemistry or comparable.
  • Minimum 5-year experience in production, R&D, quality management, process engineering or related area
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement and managing relationships with internal and external partners. 
  • Proven track record of successful technical project management
  • Oral and written fluency in English, German is an advantage 
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills. 
  • A hands-on mentality
